‘Picnic Basket Nosedive’ formed at the end of Summer 2010 through mutual boredom and discontent with a local music scene that had taken itself far too seriously. From their first gig in April 2011 and many line-up changes the band were met gradually with growing interest and instant recognition due to the unusual name. In the space of a year and a half the band’s ambition and drive saw them tour Scotland twice (totalling 75 gigs throughout this time), release 2 demos and share stages in Glasgow with many bigger names including Hawthorne Heights, Autumn In Disguise, The Maddigans, Maker, Colt 45, The Bottom Line and AlteredSky to name a few. Picnic Basket Nosedive can now safely hold their heads up high as an upcoming favourite with Glasgow’s music scene, now gaining respect and friendships from local and touring bands and crowds alike. With a live show that usually saved for much bigger venues, 2013 already sees them supporting touring bands they have become close friends with, and with hopes to reach England, Wales and Ireland by the Summer, Picnic Basket Nosedive are more than ready to storm the UK music scene and make themselves known to many.
