Philip Bölter is a German songwriter and guitar-player. Born 1988 in Lauchhammer, he grew up in Rasdorf (Hessia). At the age of ten he began to play the guitar and harp. “I pack in my bag: an old guitar, a cigar box full of blues harps and my songs. Off to the next stage. Here I can do what I like the best and forget about the stress out there.” Philip bridges the gap between the originators of Folk-Rock, like Neil Young or Bob Dylan, and artists of the todays indie-folk scene like Mumford & Sons or Johnny Flynn. His songs are eclectic and true. They relate to his life that are characterized by tireless tours and relocations. It's the little things in life that Philip sings about. Time is precious, stress is abound, places widely scattered. That does not impress Philip much. His sound and his songs help getting away from the urbanly rush, far away into his memories of the scent of hay and peace in the countryside. Philip gives the impression that he's belonged on stage all his life playing the guitar. His improvisations and spontaneous interludes alternate with deep emotions and strong tunes. All in one Philip is a little impish, a little grown, somewhere between campfire and rock 'n' roll.
