Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg (born 24 October 1989), known online as PewDiePie, is a Swedish YouTuber primarily recognised for his gaming videos. He has become one of the most prominent content creators on YouTube and is widely regarded as a figurehead for the platform, particularly within the gaming genre. Kjellberg was born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden. He created his YouTube channel, "PewDiePie", in 2010, initially posting Let's Play videos of horror and action games. His channel grew rapidly, becoming one of the fastest-growing on the platform in 2012 and 2013. On 15 August 2013, it became the most-subscribed channel on YouTube, and from 29 December 2014 to 14 February 2017, it was also the most-viewed. Following this, Kjellberg diversified his content to include vlogs, comedy shorts, formatted shows, and music videos. He also starred in a reality web series produced by YouTube as part of its subscription service relaunch. Kjellberg’s content has been polarising, attracting both widespread popularity and controversy. In 2017, a Wall Street Journal article alleged that some of his videos contained antisemitic content, prompting media scrutiny and leading some companies to end business partnerships with him. Kjellberg acknowledged that some content was inappropriate but defended it as humour taken out of context and criticised aspects of the reporting. In late 2018 and early 2019, Kjellberg was involved in a high-profile competition with the Indian record label T-Series
