about

Peter Zinovieff (1933 - 2021) was a British composer and inventor, most notable for his EMS company, which made the famous VCS3 synthesiser in the late '60s. The synthesiser was used by many early progressive rock bands such as Pink Floyd, The Who (particularly on the song Wont Get Fooled Again) and The White Noise, to name a few. Zinovieff was also a co-founder of electronic music co-operative Unit Delta Plus and wrote the libretto for Harrison Birtwistle's opera The Mask of Orpheus.
