Artist
Martin Bartlett (1939-1993) was a composer and musician who specialised in electronic and electroacoustic music. He studied music at the University of British Columbia and at Mills College, Oakland, where he studied composition with Terry Riley, Pandit Pran Nath, and Pauline Oliveros. His music was electronic and aleatoric, created and performed with computer-controlled synthesizers, including electronic devices he built himself, such as The Black Box, as well as the Buchla 400.
