Perino better known as Perino Fiorentino (Florence, 1523 - Rome, 1552) was an Italian composer and lutenist. Perino, son of Baccio Fiorentino (also known as Baccio the virtuoso and Bartolomeo degli Organi), was a pupil of Francesco da Milano , and like the maestro he was recognized among the major composers of lute music of the Italian Renaissance . He was also known as Pierino di Baccio our Fiorentino and as Pierino degli Organi . The scholar Cosimo Bartoli (1503-1572) wrote about him: "I have recently heard Pierino di Baccio our Fiorentino in Rome, who I like very much in playing the lute. Most valued of course, & if he lives he will show one day that he is a true scholar of Francesco from Milan, even though there is someone who today or is so gladly he, & perhaps more than he would hear Francesco, his teacher; And truly it does not a little honor to the good memory of Baccio, his father, that you know how virtuous she was." In 1537, Paul III welcomed his musicians among his musicians as a sign of esteem for his teacher. He died suddenly in Rome in 1552.
