Penny Lame is a voice for the generation. Raised on soul, and rock n roll in an unconventional household- she discovered her powerhouse vocals and talent for songwriting at a young age. From winning a spot in the Country Music Hall of Fame in 4th grade for a song she wrote about her dad- to having collaborated with some of the biggest stars in the world- Penny Lame, given name Gracen Hill, has taken her storytelling from her hometown of Nashville to sunny Los Angeles. She left behind her first recording deal, packed her bags, and has written and produced her next album in entirety in her living room- co-writing some songs over FaceTime with her dad- critically acclaimed 40+ #1 songwriter, Ed Hill. As for the sound, Penny has collaborated with the members of Naked Gypsy Queens- adding their unique styles to her gritty, nostalgic production that will have you wondering what decade you’re in. Following her brother’s suicide in June of 2023, Penny has vowed to continue releasing her music spotlighting mental health, suicide awareness, gun safety, and grief. She offers a unique view on life and death. Her lyrics are a page out of your diary, all while making you want to head bang in your living room. Her newest release, Holes in my Armor, is bringing us one single closer to Penny’s first official album, Split Ends, set to release in this coming Winter- along with her first West Coast tour.
