With open lyrics about mental health and the struggle of finding one’s place in the world, penny bored combines upbeat tempos and vulnerable topics to create sad music you can dance to. Inspired by Pale Waves, chloe moriondo, and Avril Lavigne, penny bored, the solo project of Faith Alesia, uses their music to establish a safe space for listeners to connect and know they aren't alone. Faith Alesia grew up playing violin and learned drums and guitar throughout high school before turning their focus to music photography for the last several years. Inspired by bands they photographed for and their own personal relationships in the Dallas-Fort Worth music scene, they reignited their passion for creating music and started penny bored in the summer of 2020. Their music is reminiscent and nostalgic of when MySpace ruled the internet but with a modern twist. (From the band's Spotify page.)
