Other Families is the collaborative effort of four Toronto based artists: an actor, a producer, a poet, and a musician studying psychology. Despite a high school friendship, Other Families did not begin making music until after their first year of University. An interest in mixed media and artistic variability fuels their project, and their work is a blend of noise-punk, poetry, and electronic body music. A live show combines recitation, song and drama. Always bent on pushing the limits of performance and artistic community, Other Families considers their band a forum for experimentation, originality and diverse influence.
