Octo Wallace is an instrumental Rockband based in Cologne, Germany. Starting in 2001 in Cologne with Drummer Guido, Guitarist Dominik, Keyboarder Peter and Bassist Tobi the Band had a lot of Periods in which its music changed on and on. The first Album they recorded in 2003 with Tiez who did th recording as well as the vocals. After acouple of concerts with him Octo Wallace decided to go on without Tiez and recorded another album named "zubr" in 2005 which is basicly instrumental. "Basicly" because one song has a female vocal-track and because Peter has some vocoderparts or just shouts every now and then from behind his keys... The music is a mixture of very hard parts, bass distortion and a very intense and fiercely played drum kit, a sometimes funky sometimes carefully picked guitar and a cheesy Keyboard which alltogether creates the sound of Octo Wallace- hard to classify! The music works without a singer because the influences each member introduces into the music causes a flood of melodies and grooves that vary so much from one song to another that no single vocalist could be able to transport each of this atmospheres. Jazz and Electro music works without a vocalist in its center-why not try it with Rockmusic?! Both Records have been recorded with friends, musicians from friendly bands and lay-outed, burned and distributed by the members of Octo Wallace. No label, no commitment to nobody.
