María Zardoya from The Marías' solo project. María announced this project on a livestream on August 20, 2025 wearing a t-shirt that says 'I made a solo project'. María Zardoya, who was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Atlanta. She and her The Marías bandmate Josh Conway, met at a show at the Kibitz Room, a bar and music venue inside Canter's Deli in Los Angeles. They began writing almost immediately after meeting.
