Artist
Nicolas Séjan (b Paris, 19 March 1745; d there, 16 March 1819). French organist and composer. A famous virtuoso, he played at Notre Dame Cathedral (1772-89), the royal chapel (1790-91, from 1814) and elsewhere in Paris, and was organ professor at the Conservatoire (1795-1802). He composed several keyboard works; those of the 1780s were among the first in France specifically for the piano.
