about

Nicolas Grousy (d. 1568) was a French composer who served as maistre des enfants at the Cathedral of Chartres from 1563 until his death. Grouzy credited with 11 chansons in various publications by Attaingnant, Du Chemin, and Le Roy et Ballard between about 1549 and 1565. Note possible confusion with Frougy. According to Dobbins, Grouzy avoided the typically serious love poems in favor of comic verse. Frank Dobbins, “Grouzy,” New Grove 2, X, 452. 8 Chansons ed in SCC.
