Nickelback is a Canadian rock band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta. The band consists of lead guitarist and vocalist Chad Kroeger, rhythm guitarist, keyboardist, and backing vocalist Ryan Peake, and bassist Mike Kroeger. The group underwent several drummer changes between 1995 and 2005 before Daniel Adair became the permanent drummer. Nickelback signed with Roadrunner Records in 1999 and achieved mainstream success in 2002 with the single "How You Remind Me," which reached number one in both the United States and Canada. The song appeared on the album "Silver Side Up," which was certified 8Γ Platinum in Canada. Their fourth album, "The Long Road" (2003), produced five singles, including the Canadian number-one track "Someday," which reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band's fifth album, "All the Right Reasons" (2005), became their best-selling release, generating three top-10 and five top-20 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including "Photograph," "Far Away," and "Rockstar," the latter becoming their most successful single in the United Kingdom. From their sixth album, "Dark Horse" (2008), Nickelback released eight singles, including the U.S. top-10 song "Gotta Be Somebody."
