New Madrid Faults was a band from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, United States formed in 2007. The band consisted of John Kimock (drums, percussion), Matt Molchany (vocals, guitar, drums), and Matt Juknevic (bass). New Madrid Faults was conceived by Kimock and Molchany in the winter of 2007. The pair began playing live and released the band's first demo in the spring of 2008. Their demo featured a collaboration with area musician Matt Juknevic who would join the band later that year as a permanent third member. The demo landed them a spot on Ropeadope Records and the band's debut album, Concerning Small Town Abberations, was released on March 30, 2009. The band has not performed live since 2010. The band members continue to pursue other musical projects including: XVSK, THUNDR VILLAIN, Soft Focus, and VoirVoir. All three members of New Madrid Faults are musicians since birth. Matt Molchany was born on the east coast, moved to Los Angeles in his early 20's, and became a fixture in the underground scene, producing for bands like The Power Chords (indie pop), Tyranis (psychedelic-metal), and The Fresas (power pop). He also had his own band Gertie Fox which completed 6 national tours playing with bands like The Hugs, Rilo Kiley, Little Brazil, and others.
