There are at least two bands called New Adventures, listed here chronologically, in order of appearance in history. 1. New Adventures was a Dutch rock band, originally from the town of Winschoten, formed in 1978. The band started out as a new wave band, but soon developed into a bluesy rock band in the vein of Herman Brood & His Wild Romance and British pub rockers such as Dr. Feelgood. The band was regarded as part of the Groningen rock scene. The group signed to Polydor in 1979. Golden Earring guitarsit, George Kooymans, produced the band's first two albums: 1980's eponymous New Adventures and 1981's Wild Cats Moanin'. The group's version of Chuck Berry's 'Come On' (made famous by The Rolling Stones) was a modest chart hit in The Netherlands. Personnel in this period: Peter Bootsman (guitar, vocals), Harry de Winter (bass, vocals), Henk Torpedo (drums). New Adventures were a populair live band in the early 1980s, discovered by many as the opening band for Golden Earring. More albums followed: Point Blank (1982), Radiator (1983). The group folded in 1986 after the release of a 'best of' LP (Best Adventures) and a live LP (Live's A Mess, but saw several reincarnations in later years. Bootsman and De Winter also released new material as Tuney Tunes and New Legend. 2. The British band - “New Adventures” - circa 2007 Friends since university, the four boys had been playing music for as long as they care to remember; as Nick puts it, “It was always the plan”.
