Artist
Muvril & The Ravignes started out simply as Muv and in later years the name Muvril & The Ravignes was adopted. Influences range from Frank Zappa to Pink Floyd to Nirvana and beyond, from shouting to singing to talking to scat, from strumming guitars to picking guitars to smashing guitars, from banging drums to tapping tables to hitting pots and pans, from love songs to comedy songs to nonsensical songs, from writing songs to full improvisation... This wide range of influences leads to a wide variety in song types and structures in Muvril & The Ravignes' work. Despite what the name suggests, Muvril & The Ravignes consists of only 1 person - Muv, although he lists fictional characters as being band members ; Mr Plitterwud does the Vocals. Muv plays the Guitars. Muverick plays the Keyboards. Peter The Pervert plays the Percussion and Muvril does the Spoken Word. Although there have been no official releases to date, Muvril & The Ravignes have a back catalogue of at least 11 albums and EPs. There is a big variety in the song types/genres so listening to even a handful of songs will not give you a full impression of M&tR's catalogue!
