Mouth & MacNeal were a Dutch pop/rock duo, comprising 'Big Mouth' (Willem Duyn) and Maggie MacNeal (Sjoukje van 't Spijker). They were active as a duo for just a few years (1971-1974), enjoying considerable international chart success, especially with their 1971 smash 'How Do You Do?'. Mouth & MacNeal were Willem Duyn (born 31 maart 1937 in Haarlem, Netherlands; died 4 December 2004 in Amsterdam, Netherlands) and Sjoukje van 't Spijker (born 5 May 1950 in Tilburg, Netherlands). Willem had been a member of several unsuccesful bands in the 1960s and he was about to give up on music when he teamed up with producer Hans van Hemert and female singer Sjoukje van 't Spijker, who had a tender solo career under her pseudonym Maggie MacNeal. Although Willem was thirteen years older than Sjoukje, there was some kind of chemistry between the two: 'Mouth' the rough and loud-mouthed male, 'MacNeal' the tender, soft-voiced girl. Their years together started in 1971 with the single 'Hey, You Love', which was followed by two #1 hits in the Dutch Top 40, 'Hello-A' and 'How Do You Do?'. The latter became a major international hit, reaching #1 in Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland and New Zealand, as well as cracking the Top 10 of the American Billboard Hot 100 (#8) and charting in Australia. In 1974 Mouth & MacNeal performed 'I See a Star' at the Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton, United Kingdom.
