Formerly releasing music under the name khorti, they initially gained attention for light, whimsical, and serene compositions characterized by playful melodies and a dreamy, lo-fi aesthetic. In 2025, the artist reintroduced themselves as Mihal Lunar, marking a significant shift in sound and vision. Their work now explores darker, more complex sonic territories, drawing from a wide range of genres including industrial, trap, synth pop, witch house, ambient, metal, chamber folk, and experimental electronic music. Mihal Lunar cites a diverse list of influences, including artists such as Poppy, FKA twigs, Björk, Ethel Cain, Eartheater, and Unlike Pluto, as well as video game soundtracks like Rayman Legends and Minecraft.
