X923 marks the official debut of Mihal Lunar set to release on August 15, 2025, a new alias emerging from years of underground releases under the previous moniker khorti. While the name has changed, the creative fire has only evolved — darker, stranger, and more expansive than ever. Written and produced entirely within the span of one month, X923 is an 11-track experimental journey through a wide spectrum of genres, seamlessly blending elements of industrial, trap, metal, synth pop, witch house, ambient, chamber folk, and various shades of electronic music. Each track stands as its own universe, making the album feel more like a sonic anthology than a linear narrative. The album draws deep inspiration from artists like Poppy, FKA twigs, Björk, Ethel Cain, Eartheater, and Unlike Pluto, as well as the nostalgic atmosphere of game soundtracks such as Rayman Legends and Minecraft. There’s a constant tension between the past and the future — soft, familiar textures collide with alien sound design, glitchy distortions, and mechanical noise, creating something that feels both haunting and otherworldly. Though mostly instrumental, X923 features spoken word poetry on three tracks, using the artist’s voice as a textural and emotional tool rather than a traditional vocal centerpiece. The result is a deeply atmospheric, genre-defying body of work that resists easy classification User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
