A sought after pianist, Michel HERR leads his own groups, from the trio to the big band. They present his numerous compositions. His trio CD : "Intuitions", with Dutch bassist Hein VAN DE GEYN and American drummer Leroy LOWE, received in 89 a "Sax", the Belgian Critics Award as best Belgian jazz album of the year. He created his "EUROPEAN QUINTET", with Bert JORIS, Wolfgang ENGSTFELD, Riccardo DEL FRA and Dré PALLEMAERTS. Finally, Michel HERR has built up a strong reputation as a composer and arranger. Co-leader of ACT Big Band, he has written for several soloists and European bands as well as for radio and TV.
