Aysha de Groot (born 7 September 1993) is a Dutch musician, songwriter a singer, released her solo material under the name Meis. Her early solo material came out during the Covid-19 pandemic: a string of singles in 2020, followed by her début EP Een in May 2021. A full-length début album is set for a 2023 release. A granddaughter of legendary Dutch singer-songwriter Boudewijn de Groot, Meis writes about things such as solitude, battling adversity and acceptance, finding a musical balance in her songs between the acoustic and the electronic. While touring with Belgian band Bazart in 2019, De Groot met Eefje de Visser and became one of De Visser's close collaborators, notably on her milestone 'Bitterzoet Tour'.
