Media Violence is an Industrial Metal recording collective founded in Hampton, Virginia by vocalist and programmer Patrick D. McCormick in 2000. For the most part MV is solo, however many other musicians have worked on recordings and as live crew. McCormick has released 7 full length studio albums along with an array of remix albums, singles, and collections. Media Violence has shared the stage with bands such as In Tenebris, hERETICS iN tHE lAB, and Logic Of Decay. Guest musicians to play live and/or write music with MV include Carl Berger (Entropy), Jdavyd Williams (In Tenebris, IDIL), Justin Hochella (Pulse Under Frequency, Man Made Random), among others. McCormick formed Media Violence with Carl Berger after calling an end to his former project Another Earthly Dimension in 2000. The primary direction of the band was purely electronic with a focus on borderline EBM rhythms and synth lines. Media Violence's sound, however, evolved during it's history into thickly layered, extremely heavy, and often epic industrial metal usually following the concept album style of record making. Lyrically, MV's focus tends to deal with psychological, sociological, and spiritual subject matter. Side projects of McCormick include: Aggressive Attack, Another Earthly Dimension, Cage Clinic, Neuroexorcism, The Crucifixation, Torna Sunder. McCormick also owns Wex Records/Press, a label founded by himself to release an array of music projects and books. Media Violence went on hiatus in 2006
