Meanwell College was a two-piece from Adelaide, South Australia, who played shows and recorded songs between June 2006 and December 2007. Ben Revi sang and played guitar and piano, and Benn Hansen played drums. In that time, they played with Melbourne bands Even, Gersey and Laura, and constantly played alongside a number of now famous Adelaide bands, such as Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire!, No Through Road, Skye Harbour (then Benchplayer), The Yearlings and Poly & The Statics. Live footage was recorded by Adelaide community television, and played on some cable show all over the United States. One night, while watching jtv on ABC2, a friend noticed the opening notes of 'Like Mushrooms' accompanying a youth affairs segment. Our royalty check was literally couples of dollars healthier that year. In July 2007, Revi left the country to go backpacking; upon his return, Hansen announced that he had been offered a high-paying, high-flying job in London. The band played its last show in December 2007. Revi now plays in Cheer Advisory Council, still living in Ad
