Imagine climbing a mountain, surrounded by the most beautiful scenery one can only imagine. Behold a fjord 800 meters below you, with its blue arms stretching out with raging brushes of waves on to beautiful polished rocks in the archipelago. An eagle is soaring high above you, and the only thing you can hear is the mesmerizing whispers of the wind. This sight is what Maria is trying to give you. Driven by the Norwegian nature and the love for her family, her debut album, ‘Birds Don’t Tell’ has started to take its form. With her enchanting lyrics and clever euphemisms, she compels you to take a part in her life. It’s intimate, and maybe only hers to keep, but with the musical drive and talent Maria possesses, it is only fair that she shares her musical works. Maria Toresen comes from an extremely musical family. She plays violin, piano and guitar, and masters all other instruments you can think of. It was inevitable that she became a musician, and has a long musical career behind her 29 years, and now she is finally releasing her first solo album. For Maria, a song is about feelings.
