Even though Marcus Norris has come a long way, he isn’t where he wants to be yet. He’s never been the type of person who can accept mediocrity. Even as a small child, people knew he would do great things. He makes sure to stay mindful of this, without becoming conceited. He gives all credit to God for his natural talents and abilities. His loving relationship with music began early. Barbara, his mother, even played music to him while she was pregnant with him. He was born July 7th, 1991 and lived in the small town of Jackson, MI for most of his life. In elementary he started playing string instruments. He soon realized that it wasn’t for him. When he got to Middle School he started on the drums. He liked this, but it frustrated him. He always felt like “he wanted to be the whole band”, but was restricted to one instrument. It was the summer after his 7th grade school year when he quit the drums and discovered electronic music. He was introduced to a program called FL Studio by his Uncle Andre (Dre of Loonside). This is a program used to make instrumentals. Marcus loved it instantly and before long he was spending almost all of his time making beats. His music was important to him. It was like a diary without words. He didn’t even let people listen to his music. It was that personal to him. He spent the next couple years making beats.
