Chanda Dancy is a United States Film Composer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. Founder and President of CYD Music, Chanda is an artist in the world of composing for films and various other multimedia as well as a solo vocal and instrumental performer. A selected fellow of the 2009 Sundance Film Composers Lab, a winner of the 2002 BMI Pete Carpenter Fellowship for Aspiring Film Composers and the 2004 APM/YMF Music Business Award where she was honored alongside great film composer, John Williams, Chanda has, over the years, become a sought after composer for her own signature sound and dramatic point of view. She is most noted for her collaboration with filmmaker Ted Chung on such short films as A Thousand Words, Mike's, and I.D. Music by Chanda has been heard all over the world in theatrically released feature films, commercials, radio and in such festivals as Cannes Film Festival, Tribecca Film Festival, Sapporo Short Film Festival, Slamdance, Sundance and Pangea Day.
