Malc was born in a little town in North Wales, called St. Asaph. He lived for the immediate part of his life in Colwyn Bay and then at the age of 5, moved to Wrexham. He stayed in Wrexham until the age of 16, and then moved back to Colwyn Bay. In 1989, Malc moved to Birmingham to start his General Nurse training, which he passed in 1992. During the time he was undertaking his training, he bought a cheap guitar and chord book, and taught himself to play basic structures of songs. Malc joined his first band 'Walking Wounded' in 1992 and did many gigs in and around the black country, and in one of the smaller venues played to a mere 3 people, and they were the girlfriends of the band! Things did get better though and soon 'Walking Wounded' were playing larger venues to more people. In 1995, Malc was approached by the guitarist of a band called 'Fallen Angels' and asked if he would sing lead vocals for them. This was to be the catalyst for the formation of a band called 'Dreamscape' (or for a short while 'Anglesea'). Musicians came and went during and after numerous gigs in the heart of England. During this period, Malc became friends with a drummer by the name of Paul Smith, and it was from this friendship that saw Malc leave to join 'Livewyre' in 1998. Although, there were some initial changes to the line-up, the band swelled with the recrutment of Adam 'Macster' MacNaughton on Bass, and on Lead Guitar, Chris Ashton.
