His songs are played on radio stations in many continents, including Africa, the Middle East, India, Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, The United States, and Canada. Early Life From a young age, he exhibited a talent for singing and was influenced by various musical styles while growing up as the only child of a single parent in a troubled household. His challenging upbringing led him to leave home at an early age. Struggling to maintain steady employment, he turned to music, playing guitar and writing songs while performing in nightclubs along the East Coast during the mid-1980s. Career Development Carlton’s popularity as a club singer eventually allowed him to open for several country music celebrities. In the late 1980s, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he continued to pursue his music career. However, his troubled past continued to haunt him and struggles with severe alcohol abuse often resulted in hospitalizations and periods of homelessness.
