Artist
Makiko Nishikaze, born 1968 in Wakayama, Japan, studied Composition with Alvin Curran at Mill’s College in Oakland and with Walter Zimmermann at the Hochschule der Kuenste (Fine Arts Academy) in Berlin. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Kunstlerhof Schreyahn in Niedersachsen, GEDOK-Haus in Schleswig Holstein, and Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. Makiko was awarded a composition prize from the city of Stuttgart as well as a grant from the Berlin Senate.
