Also known as: Magister Albericus, Archiepiscopus Bituricensis, Alberic, Archbishop of Bourges Albericus archiepiscopus Bituricensis (Magister) is a name attached by manuscript tradition to the twelfth-century Codex Calixtinus repertory for St James. Modern cataloguing (DIAMM) preserves his attribution to “Ad superni regis decus,” transmitted in the Codex Calixtinus manuscript witness (E-SC s.s.), and Sequentia’s Vox Iberica I: Sons of Thunder includes the piece under his name in its track metadata. Beyond this manuscript-linked attribution (and the “–1141” date supplied in DIAMM’s authority record), further biographical narrative is not confirmed in the open sources used for this biographical note.
