There are at least two bands that share this name: (1) Alternative band from Bergen, Norway. “Debut out the 18th of Octobre with help from The Dandy Warhols and Sonic Boom!” Lovecult has long been a buzzword in the Norwegian scene. The band is known for making psychedelic and dreamy melodies driven by seducing and hypnotic beats, captivating their listeners with dreamy and sophisticated yet simple songs. After Lovecult supported and seduced The Dandy Warhols on the Norwegian leg of their 2012 tour, the Dandys got so excited they all wanted to help with Lovecults debut. Both Courtney Taylor-Taylor, Peter Holmstrom and Zia Mccabe have mixed material for the release. “Working with the Dandys was like working with old friends who’d known us for years! They instantly grasped where we wanted to go, and made some bold descissions to take things even further” says Henning. Pete “Sonic Boom” Kember from the legendary psychedelic outfit, Spacemen 3 has also helped mixing and completing the vision the band had in mind. The first single, Please Be Mine, out oct 4th on Diamond Club, is mixed by Kember who’s also worked with contemporary great acts such as Peaking Lights, MGMT and Panda Bear. “We really wanted to mangle this collection of songs into something bigger than we could achieve on our own, and these people tuned things to perfection.” Says Eirik.
