Formed in the early 90s in Baltimore Maryland USA, Love Nut was classic power pop band with a unique take on the genre. Power cords and a mix punk sensibility dissect a 60s AM radio undercurrent all studded with great guitar/vocal hooks and harmonies. Songs ranging from 2 minute punk anthems to stadium rock fist pumpers to moody hook filled power ballads. For a sampling of their range, check out tracks "She Wont Do Me" from the debut album "Bastards of Melody" and "Love Found You" from follow up album "Baltimucho", their cover of "Green Tamborine" and "Touch". Signed to major Interscope for a time, they worked with Ed Stasium producer of the Ramones, Talking Heads etc and manager John Lay of Squeeze fame. Original line up was Andy Bopp and Max Mueller on guitars/vox, Tom Sabia on drums and David Vespoint on bass/vox. Later, after Baltimucho was recorded Tom Sabia left the band and Joe Parson joined on drums. The band earliest beginnings started in baltimore maryland under the name New Alliance and released a rare EP. They later had some personnel changes and became Love Nut andput together the punk-power-pop first album originally recorded in a baltimore md basement and ended up getting them signed and released on a major label - Interscope. Bastards of Melody moved from Baltimore indie label Merkin Records to INTERSCOPE. The band picked up manager John Lay (of fame).
