Associated with: Sotones Loose Caboose didn’t really start in the normal way. Well not in the putting an add in NME saying “drummer wanted” type way. Ollie and Tom met at college and had been friends for a while. When Tom got dumped by a long term girlfriend and wanted to go and record some sad songs, Ollie was an obvious choice on drums. In December 2005 they went to Twin Peaks Studio in Wales to see what they could come up with. Fairly happy with the basic tracks, Tom started doing solo gigs as Thomas Joseph, which was fun but not Loose Caboose fun. One night in June 2006, Ollie walked into a gig in Winchester when Tom was playing and there was an empty drum kit. It seemed only right to call him onstage. Ben, who runs Valley Studios in Winchester, walked in about five minutes later and got the same treatment. Loose Caboose was born. Loose Caboose undertook their first tour in September 2006 which covered most of England in 20 dates. The band’s first single, “By a little” is almost complete, as is the accompanying video clip. Another UK tour is planned for early 2007 along with some support dates with The Holloways. A 10 day tour of New York and surrounds is currently being planned for May 2007. To date the band have recorded 20 original songs, several of which have been mastered. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
