Linda Presgrave is a jazz pianist, composer, and arranger who relocated to New York City in 1998 from St. Louis, where she had an active music career. She has since released four jazz CDs as a leader on the Metropolitan Records label. Her most recent album, INSPIRATION, features her original music inspired by people, places, and things, as well as works by Joanne Brackeen, Melba Liston, Bertha Hope and Billie Holiday. The album has been very well-received, highlighting Linda's pianist and compositional skills. Linda is dedicated to keeping jazz a viable living cultural art form by composing music accessible to the public. Her compositions are featured on two of Metropolitan Records' compilations, A Jazz Christmas: That Special Time of Year and Ballads in Jazz. Her third album, The Journey, marks the beginning of her exploration into the music of inspirational jazz artists who happen to be women. Linda has performed at a variety of prestigious venues, including Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center, the IRIDIUM Jazz Club, the Third Annual Women in Jazz Festival at Saint Peter's, as well as internationally in Italy and France. She has also appeared as part of several ensembles and big bands, including the International Women in Jazz Ensemble and the Astoria Big Band.
