left Pencey was an rock band from Toronto Canada. The band found an eager audience while touring in the late 1990s and early 2000s, a path set out by successful Canadian alternative rockers such as I Mother Earth, Matthew Good Band, Moist, The Tea Party, Our Lady Peace and Big Wreck. Amidst the peak of the Canadian alt-rock scene, left Pencey placed first in a nation-wide battle of the bands, hosted by the Canadian Broadcast Company (CBC). After this win, they were signed to Arista Records out of New York in 2001. After a heavy touring schedule, left Pencey went to Malibu to record a new album in early 2002 with producer Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins, Placebo). The song 'So Many Dragons' was released a praised by fan as an exciting beginning for the new album, however, after recording, the band parted ways, and the album was never released. Brad Lyons went on to the group Oceanship. Andre Kaden Black writes songs with/for other major label artists in Toronto/New York City, Scott Komer owns a studio in Toronto and plays in the band Love You To Death (formerly The Pettit Project) and guitarist Pat Leyland is an Entertainment Lawyer at the prestigious firm of Taylor Mitsopulos Klein Oballa since it opened. its doors in March 2006.
