Described as “a breath of fresh air,” and “the sound the rock world needs right now,” Leaders of the Rest is a fusion of classic hard rock, progressive metal, and psychedelic folk. With bluesy undertones and a modern feel, Leaders of the Rest will take you back to the future of music. Andrew Cox, lead vocalist and frontman of Leaders of the Rest, is a resident of Mendham, NJ. He came to Greenville in pursuit of a Furman University degree and a southern belle. Although he currently has neither, he was enchanted by southern cooking and southern hospitality and has decided to “set and stay a while.” He and his girlfriend are looking for an apartment in the area that will accept a dog, a cat, and a very loud rock band. Luke Crumbaker, lead guitarist and songwriter for Leaders of the Rest, is a native of Easley, SC. A junior at Furman University, Luke is pursuing a degree in philosophy. He is often found “studying” barefoot in a hammock under a tree near Furman’s lake. Luke and his turtle, Kurmajara, are still trying to decide whose couch they want to end up on.
