LuxJury is a London, United Kingdom-based three-piece, "whose self-effacing indie-rock sounds just as at home blasting from a Hackney dive bar jukebox as it would crackling from a car stereo drifting down the Pacific Coast Highway." Their debut single, 'Hot Mess', came out in November 2025. In 2024, Lux sent a self-released EP to Bella Union Records. She expected it to go straight to 'junk' and prepared herself for giving up music altogether. In 2025, Lux had been given the support of Bella to morph the EP into an album. LuxJury decided to keep the title of the EP, though: Giving Up. Lux grew up in a deeply suburban part of Vienna without a shred of rock and roll to guide her through. She turned to music as the only medium for transcending the boredom and monotony of a static neighbourhood. She drummed for a Weezer cover band in high school: a sign of great things to come. But rebelling against the radio pop of mainland Europe has ironically led her back to really appreciating some of that songwriting and guitar tone. Lux met a drummer (Howey) at university, where they helped one another to fail in science labs. They moved to London in 2018 and they dived head-first into the Hackney Wick warehouse scene, meeting Florence and the Machine’s tour manager who would later introduce them to the eclectic queer rock scene created by producer and studio owner Margo Broom (Hermitage Works - Goat Girl, Big Joanie, Fat White Family). Whilst loitering at the studio they met a youn
