Jacob Alon is a Scottish singer-songwriter, with an ethereal and pure voice and delivers their music with palpable emotion. Born and raised in Fife in a single parent family, Jacob first learned to play the piano at the age of nine before later picking up the guitar at age 15. Enchanted by the sombre beauty of Nick Drake and Adrianne Lenker’s music, Jacob started to write songs in school for friends before their all-consuming love of music evolved from a hobby to a lifeline whilst at university. After dropping out of university, they began to play folk nights in Edinburgh before finding solace in the Scottish capital’s queer scene, which gave them the confidence to pour their innermost feelings into song. Since releasing their debut single Fairy in a Bottle in September 2024, they have toured with Kae Tempest and Olly Alexander, made their TV debut on Later... with Jools Holland and were named one of NME's 100 for 2025.
