With a rare ability to effortlessly create a different sound in a genre where it seems everyone sounds much the same, Knife of Liberty is that breath of freshair that, perhaps, you didn't know you needed. They refuse to be a band that would write just that about themselves only to let the listener have the unpleasant surprise of pressing play to listen, and find that he or she immidiately recognizes every riff and wonder how many times the same type of vocals have been heard before. Knife of Liberty wants to make you feel something when you listen, to recognize feelings you've had before and touch something inside you yet they provide the listeners with all the energy and explosiveness they need to keep them on their toes while mixing it with heavier riffing and twin leads to add to the experience. It all adds up to an amazing live show that you must see if you ever get the chance. With hundreds of requests to go to the States and play, perhaps the future will see Knife of Liberty crossing the Atlantic if the demand keeps building but not before touring Europe which will happen in support of the next EP. After two years of not playing guitar in a band, Dan decided in May 2006 to write a few songs on his own, have them recorded and go from there. He had been during mostly screaming in his two bands, Shifting December and Ghost of Gabriel and wanted to have more clean vocals and melodies, without losing too much of the heavier edge, on his new songs.
