Juango was born in a very musical and cultural family, with the official name of Juan Guillermo Dávalos Perdomo. His father from one island, Cuba, his mother from half an island, Dominican Republic. So, that makes him…and islander and a half. Since he was a little boy Juango showed interest in building stuff. He built for example, a small fan that ran on a 9-volt battery made from an old remote control car, a jar of cocoa and a malfunctioning hair dryer. It actually worked and the fresh air smelled like chocolate. He spent lots of time in a tamarind tree on his backyard, mostly spying on everyone, dreaming of making music and wishing he could bring the family piano up there with him. Eventually he came down and played the piano and the accordion, sometimes with his guitar player brother and violinist sister. Juango has a dark and cheesy sense of humor, sort of an intense Roquefort flavor to it. He always hoped to become, in his own words, an "inventor de disparates" ("crap inventor"), and designing and making music is his own special way of doing it.
