Described as a a cross between Panda Bear, Bill Callahan, Phil Elverum and Lou Barlow Josh Armistead has carved his own musical niche into the world class Melbourne Indie music scene over the last ten years. Josh has performed at nearly every venue in Melbourne with the likes of Grand Salvo, KES, Pikelet, Garath Liddiard (The Drones), Tim Rogers, Emily Ulman, The Motifs, Extreme Wheeze, Laura Jean, Royal Chord. His debut album was funded and recorded by RRR Radio (Melbourne, Australia) after winning demo of the month on Ryan Egan's 'Local & Or General' show. Subsequent album listed in albums of the year (2004) RRR Radio (Mouse Trap show and Local & Or general) His second album was recorded with Nao Anzai in 2005 before heading overseas on a round the world trip which included riding a motor bike over the highest peaks of the Himalayas, setting fire to an underground tavern while trying to induce hallucinations on Absinth in Prague, living in a mansion in southern England and falling in love with Olympia (champagne and Jacuzzis in the snow), Washington state (U.S.A) Josh's music has found it's way into various sound tracks and advertisements including an independent film screened at Cannes Film Festival and Melbourne Film Festivals. Many of the songs are love songs but many are existential stories of every day life and have been likened to reading someone else's diary. Josh's latest offering 'Team Yes! - Home Recordings Vol. 1' (third) album due for release March 12th 2009 sel
