Artist
Johnny Respect was a pop punk band out of Detroit, MI. We signed a developemnt contract with 5 Minute Walk Records in 1997. Went out on the road with Five Iron Frenzy and had a song (Ballad of the Invisible Man) released on a FMW comp.(music for meals) Later that year we signed to Bulletproof Records a label out of Atlanta, GA. We quickly recorded our first album Blue Collar Moxy (in atlanta) and toured playing many great venues and festivals (Cornerstone) across the country (including the three month "United Tour"). Summer of 1998 we recorded our second record Life ain't what it used to be!(in detroit). Fall of 1998, we decided to "walk away" from Bulletproof and work on a local following back home. The next five years we released a three song e.p. "demographics", played relentlessly, toured some more around the the country and canada(w/ the DBG's), and played and toured with some pretty cool bands (POD, Reliant K, mxpx, Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger, Sixpence None the Richer, Five Iron Frenzy, Squad 5-0, the Insyderz, Sleeping at Last, Spoken) User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
