Artist
Johannes Fischer (b. 1981 in Leonberg ) is a German drummer and composer. At the age of nine, Johannes Fischer received first drumming and piano lessons. From 1998 to 2000 he was a scholarship holder of the Jürgen Ponto Foundation. He studied drums at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg under Bernhard Wulff , Taijiro Miyazaki and Pascal Pons . In addition, studies in conducting and composition with Francis Travis and Dieter Mack followed . In 2004 he was awarded the Märkische scholarship for music . In 2003/2004 he was invited to the Lucerne Festival Academy under the direction of Pierre Boulez , and in 2007 he received a scholarship from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and the Gerd Bucerius scholarship grant from the ZEIT Foundation . In 2007 he was artist in residence in San Diego with Steven Schick. Since 2006 he teaches at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano / Switzerland.
