Weird music, odd music, headache-inducing music, all of them match João Ninguém's sound, and they take pride in that. They aren't surprise about people trying and failling to name a genre that fits their music, since they transit between rock, atonalism, funk, samba, experimentalism, jazz fusion and other kinds of music. It's a band that reminds the listener of the 80's vanguard from São Paulo, namely Arrigo Barnabé and Grupo Rumo, structuring itself in the progressive rock, standing firmly on black music's groove, and still incorporates folk and electroacoustic sounds. But at the same, it's everyday's music, people's music, trivial's music. The urban daylife is the feedstock; João Ninguém is the character.
