He is playing mainly slide guitar (National Tricone, Chaturangui - 22 strings Hindustani Slide Guitar and Hawaiian Weissenborn lap slide guitar), but also sings and plays charango, ukulele, mandolin, epinette des vosges, 6- and 12-string rhythm guitar, n'goni and kora. Jim's music is at the crossroads of the music from all over the world. Singing a Skip James blues on a Hawaiian guitar, with sounds inspired by the classical music of India - that is a good illustration for his love of the mixtures of musical flavors of the world. Jim is drawing inspiration from a diverse field of cultures to create new musical emotions with stringed instruments. Jim is influenced by every rhythm from each country or continent.
