Jerry Holland (February 23, 1955-July 16, 2009) was a fiddler specializing in Cape Breton Island tunes. Cape Breton fiddle tunes were brought to the island by settlers from Scotland and Ireland. Jerry first learned to fiddle from his father who taught him the fiddle tunes and styles of previous generations. He was performing publicly by the age of six. He later played with and learned from many older traditional fiddlers from Cape Breton Island such as: Winston Fitzgerald, Bill Lamey, and Angus Chisholm. Jerry performed in: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, Scotland, Finland, Germany, Mexico, England, France, USA, and in most Canadian provinces.
