The Jared Plane Quartet are an Australian modern jazz ensemble led by composer, arranger, bandleader and upright bassist Jared Plane. The quartet consists of Jared Plane on Upright Bass, Max Williams on Tenor Saxophone, Andy Campbell on the Guitar and Aidan Lowe on Drums and Percussion. The majority of the quartet's compositions were written by Jared Plane, with select compositions by Andy Campbell. The quartet are focussed on delivering an array of memorable, cohesive compositions with flowing melodies and strong harmonies. Jared's compositions draw influence from numerous jazz composers including Antonio Carlos Jobim, Wayne Shorter, Tom Harrell and Tord Gustavsen among others. On May 11, 2011 the quartet put on a special concert at the Australian National University, showcasing the original compositions by Jared Plane, and guitarist Andy Campbell.
