Artist
Jan Van Landeghem, born in Temse in 1954, studied music at the conservatories of Brussels and Maastricht, earning top honors in composition and a solo diploma in organ. He further honed his skills in France, Germany, and the Netherlands, working with renowned figures like Iannis Xenakis and maintaining ties with Karel Goeyvaerts. As a Fulbright Scholar, he taught and performed in the US and Poland and has toured extensively across Europe, Asia, and America. An accomplished composer, Van Landeghem has received numerous awards, including the Festival of Flanders’ Wendungen Prize for Epitaffio (1993) and the Vlaanderen-Québec Contemporary Music Prize for Silent Scream (1995). In 2000, he was named "Composer of the Year" at the Ramsgate Spring Festival for his piano quartet Marcatissimo.
