Artist
If Bears Were Bees is Timothy Justin Grant and whatever friends have stuck around. The Bears' musical styles usually center around poppy indie rock or indie country/folk. Timothy sings about his lovers, time, death, and science, with a lot of annunciation and a lot of self deprecation. If Bears Were Bees was formed in the winter of 2003 when singer and songwriter of the Seattle ska/indie rock band The Dramatics! got together with his friend Gallagher Scott and wrote a few sad songs on the acoustic guitar and piano. By that summer Timothy had recorded his first album Songs About Songs, almost entirely by himself on drums, guitars, trumpet, banjo, bass, and cello. Throughout the next year he recorded his second album I'm not a poet, I'm a liar with his newly formed group - Justin Mundell on drums, Gallagher Scott on guitar, piano, and banjo, and Nick Foster on bass and clarinet. The band got a little more rockin and a little more country. The concept album is an eclectic mix of poppy folk and indie which is mostly about the absurdity of creating meaning - "is it only made up by the poets who just dim the lights until it's perfect?/ because everything is beautiful in the dark", "Now that love can be explained by any scientist/ what will the poets do when they hear about this?/ but I don't feel any change." The latest album is called "Take Care of Me" and is available on iTunes. The Current 2010 lineup includes Marcus Buser on guitar/backup vocals, Colton Anderson on drums, and J
